It's the Weekend (Kinda)

:: The weekend is starting! I'm leaving tonight for Atlanta. This week is Fall Break at school. Acutually, all of my professors are attending a seminar and they just gave it a fancy name, but it means long weekend for me!
I just developed my second roll of 35mm from the lovely Diana F+. I'm still learning, but I'm so proud!
Above are two of my favorites from the roll.

Have a fun weekend! See you nest week!

Be Still My Heart

:: Rachel's collection of typewriters is awwessommmee!!
I'm so in love.

Trampoline Vintage

:: Trampoline is a really neat shop on Etsy. The way they present and photograph their things is refreshingly creative. I'm loving that vintage Coach bag!

Pretty, Pretty

:: I love the floors in this family's Barcelona home! And that little girl is stinkin' cute!

Autumn Lane

:: I've had these pictures on my computer for forever. Looking at them always makes me want to go out and have a photoshoot. I'm so in love with their style. (That green hat!!!)
Do you know who they are? I know that they are singers, but I've forgotten their name. If you know, let me know!

Happy Monday

:: Welcome to the first of many Happy Mondays. Below are ten things that are making me happy this Monday.

1. This valentine from my love. That ugly little creature cracks me up!

2. This pretty fall outfit.

4. Loving the colors in this living room.

6. Pretty pictures from Europe. It seems like so many people I know are or have gone on a vacation in Europe recently and I am living vicariously through their pictures.

7. Raindrops. It's a drizzly Monday today, but I kinda like it.

8. Porter Hovey's new kissing blog.

9. I love the paper airplane decor in Rachel's dining room!

10. This cute little guy makes me smile.

Just Some Ramblings & Happy Things

:: Here's another end of the week roundup for your enjoyment. And, yes, I know it's Saturday and the end of the week was officially yesterday...but my weekend has been rather different so my days feel all mixed up.

I was thinking earlier that most blogs I read post end of the week posts with several fun links from around the web in an effort to have a weekend sans blogging. I, on the other hand, do it because I come across too many neat things to save to my computer. And if I saved every neat thing for an indiviual post this blog would be whopping huge!
This blog is new for me and I'm having tons of fun with it, so any one who reads this will just have to put up with my sometimes sporadic, excessive amounts of posting. Really, though, blue zadie is simply for me. I think it's absolutely awesome that some people would want to read it, but mostly it's just a collection of the things I find interesting. I read in the introduction of someone's blog the other day that it was her "online library". Those seem like the perfect words. There are so many neat things and pretty images that I want to remember, so it's nice to have a place to tuck them all. (Oh, and if you know whose blog that was let me know and I'll give them credit).

I hope your weekend is going fabulous wherever you are and whatever you're doing.
Here's some things that have caught my attention as of late:

I really like lists. I really like people who make them too. Andrea takes list-making to a whole other level.
I got so caught up in the list-making frenzy that I signed up at this amazing site.
I have been drooling over these books for some time now. And even though I can do it online now I still
              want one.
Andrea and her crew came up with the sweetest idea ever and the best way to spend a Friday afternoon.
This couple is officially awesome! I love.love.love.love.love their engagement session.
A new and different blog I ran across. (new for me, at least)
I'm always on the scout-out for new music. So, thank you very much, Bleubird Vintage.

Let the Great World Spin

:: I have had a rather on-going obsession with globes lately. A few months ago, I kept running across so many ideas to do with globes. I didn't know it would be so hard to find them though! You wouldn't think it would be, but it has been. After scouring thrift stores and yard sales, I finally found where a treasure storm of globes has been hiding. Etsy, of course. I don't know why I didn't look there first.
Here are two shops that sell them:

The Lollipop Shoppe

:: I love The Lollipop Shoppe's huge collection of chairs. They have some pretty cool ones!

And I Love You She Said

:: Good morning, lovelies! Here's a neat etsy shop to start your day off with. I love the starkness and simplicity of the prints. Oh, and they are Swedish designs. Even better.

I woke up this morning with two little boys and we are going to hang out all day. Morning is different with little kids. There's so much excitement that it's morning and a new day is starting! I wish I could have their energy every morning.

Newsprint

:: I read this article this morning and smiled...

"From time to time a clever critic will ask how many trees were felled to enable the local newspaper to go to press with stories about Lindsay Lohan or editorials supporting the privatization of ABC stores.
The wits might want to consult Rex Springston's Sunday story about e-waste, which opened: "Virginians are creating piles of potentially dangerous waste. The problem is old electronics, or e-waste -- computers, cellphones, and other gadgets that people toss because they've found something newer and shinier."
"The old electronics are laced with pollutants, such as lead and calcium," Springston explained, "that have been linked to cancer, nervous-system damage, and other problems."
Newsprint, we might add, is so sanitary that it can be used to wrap a nice fillet of halibut, rockfish, or cod.
Newsprint also can be recycled. The paper you are holding today could contain remnants of the edition that reported the news of the last time the Cubs won the World Series. (We exaggerate.)
Our concluding advice is to buy a newspaper -- and, thereby, to go green."

:: I've got a soft spot for newspapers.
My dream job would be in a newsroom that came straight out of His Girl Friday. (Cary Grant would work their too). I'm constantly hearing how newspapers and print journalism is going extinct. It makes me sad.
So I'm big fans of people who defend newspapers and point out their good qualities.
What else can you read during breakfast and then wrap fresh caught fish in that evening?

Below are just a few amazing uses I found for recycling your newspaper. I'm sure there's millions more.

It makes fabulous wallpaper!
The Alphabet on Newspaper -- such cute & creative wall art.
Abigail Doan uses bits of newspaper to create this amazing art.
Newspaper gift bags.

If you support the printed word in all its forms (newspapers, books, whatever), add this sweet button to your blog.

UPDATE: After posting this, I randomly came upon this cute stop-motion film from Anthology magazine titled Print Is Not Dead. So I had to come back and edit my post to share it with all of you!
