Autumn Nights

:: This is just a post of me talking.
You don't have to read it if you don't want.

My favorite thing about summer (well, one of my favorite things) is how the day doesn't end after supper. After all the dishes were washed and put away, my whole family would migrate outside again. My mom would head to her garden, Dad would finish mowing the grass, the brother would do boy things (aka bang things around and mess with pickup trucks). Summer evenings hold a lot of memories.
I remember when us kids were little we would all get a bath and then go sit on the picnic table outside and eat orange sherbet ice cream, in our cute little kid pj's and wet hair.

Lately, I've been thinking how much I've come to like these nights - when I'm barely home from school before it gets dark. That's always been my beef with winter - that it gets dark too early. For some reason, though, I'm really liking these autumn nights lately.
It gets dark outside and I get to curl up on my bed with a book or a movie.
The house always smells good, because someone is baking things like pumpkin pies, chocolate chip cookies, apple pies, all that yummy stuff. (My sister made pie in a jar the other night!)
There's just something so cuddly and cozy about autumn nights.
I can't describe it, but maybe you know what I'm talking about already.
Anyway, I'm glad that me and the cooler weather and shorter days are getting along so well. I hope we can keep this friendship up.
